Community Guidelines

1. Our Vision
Debate.Games is an arcade of opinion games: every take is a playable round. We believe good collisions aren't about beating the other side — they sharpen your judgment. Expect quick draws and guesses as well as serious stance debates.
2. Content Format
All content on this platform must be interactive opinion games (debatable, rankable, comparable or guessable points):
- Every game must include at least two defensible positions or options
- Option sets must match the question's form: binary questions get two options (three max with an explicit neutral) — never a padded list of answers
- No one-sided promotion or non-interactive content
- Prompts must be complete, grammatical sentences; tags must be concise and retrievable (max 3, each ≤6 Chinese chars / ≤3 English words)
3. High-Risk Topics (Hard Ban)
The following are banned as material for games, comments, or any user content:
- Politics: parties, politicians, elections, ideology, geopolitical conflict
- Religion: mockery of faiths, deities or doctrines; religious comparison
- Race & ethnicity: stereotypes, supremacy, racialized immigration bait; racial hatred and hate-group promotion (neo-Nazi, white supremacy etc.) is rejected outright
- Gender & sexual orientation: demeaning content or gender-war baiting
- Sexual content: any sexual innuendo, pornography or sexual description (including edging and double entendre) is banned outright and cannot be 18+-flagged
- Minors: any sexualization or violence involving minors
- Self-harm & eating disorders: suicide, self-harm or anorexia played for laughs
- Terrorism & extremism: promotion in any form
- Drug trafficking: dealing, manufacturing or other drug-trade activity is banned outright (drugs are illegal in many jurisdictions — no regional exceptions)
- Criminal trade: human trafficking, gun sales, money laundering, scam operations and cheat/hack solicitation — zero tolerance, rejected outright
- Entertainmentization of real tragedy: recent disasters, attacks or accidents as game material
- War & armed conflict: ongoing wars, military operations or terrorist attacks as game material; no ads are served next to such content (academic discussion of historical battles excepted)
- Disease stigma: shaming patients (including pandemic stigma)
- Disability: using disability as a punchline
- Class hatred & country/region rivalry baiting
Boundary principle: abstract philosophical trade-offs (trolley-problem style) are fine; entertainment or polarization targeting real groups, faiths, or victims is not. When in doubt, swap the topic to life, tech, culture, work or entertainment dilemmas.
4. 18+ & Adult Content (Not Allowed)
- 18+/adult content is banned outright: sexual innuendo, pornography, sexual description, and anything sold on being adult or restricted — it is not a self-markable option
- Creation is screened automatically: adult content is rejected on the spot; sensitive topics such as war or politics go to a human review queue for a final call
- Legacy or missed 18+ content stays blurred on feed cards and detail pages until tapped — the blur is a safety net, not a publishing channel
- Social share previews of 18+ games show a warning card only — no prompt leakage
- The platform's AI generator never produces 18+ content; the 18+ flag is applied only by platform review and cannot be self-marked at creation
5. Discussion Norms
Prohibited: personal attacks, insults or threats; anything from the Section 3 ban list; misinformation; ads and spam; vote manipulation or automation; illegal or obscene content; doxxing.
- Argue with facts and logic; explain why you picked what you picked
- Cite specific data, cases or experience
- Acknowledge strong points from the other side
- Offer constructive rebuttals and new angles
- Stay open to different views
6. Moderation & Enforcement
Content violating these guidelines is handled as follows:
- Submit blocking: games, comments and answers that hit the banned-word list are rejected outright (we do not silently rewrite your content)
- Hiding: clearly violating content is hidden
- Manual review: uncertain cases go to a human queue; games created by unverified identities go live only after review
- Account limits: severe or repeated violations may lead to bans
7. Reporting
If you spot violating content:
- Report games, comments and profiles via the ••• menu or the report button
- Pick a reason and submit
- Reports enter a review queue; a moderator reviews them and issues a decision
- You can also block anyone (comment menu, profile popup, or their page): their games and comments silently disappear from your view with no notice to them; while signed in they cannot view your public profile (signed-out browsing is unaffected)
- The outcome comes back to you as an in-app notification (repeat reports on the same target are ignored)
8. Appeals & Corrections
If you believe content was handled incorrectly:
- Games taken down after a report can be reviewed in My Arcade → Report reviews & corrections, then edited and resubmitted
- For anything else, use the contact page or master@debate.games — a moderator reviews it manually
- There is no paid appeal channel; reviews never cost you fuel
9. AI-Generated Content
The platform uses AI generators to supplement the game bank:
- Content sources are exactly two: user and official (AI-generated, seeded bank); AI-generated games record source and generator version — they never impersonate real users
- AI generation follows the same content-safety standards as user content (Section 3 ban list and PG-13 limits included)
- Legacy AI arena APIs are sealed: no access to human gameplay or user rewards
- AI can make mistakes; use the report and appeal channels for review
10. Images, Covers & Copyright
Before uploading an image, make sure you own the rights or have permission to store, publicly display and transmit it on this platform. This applies to game images, option images, avatars and comment images, including album covers, film/TV posters, anime frames, illustrations, photographs and logos.
- Do not download images from search engines, social media, music/film/anime sites and upload them directly. Buying a physical album, taking a screenshot, crediting the author/source, adding a disclaimer or labeling an upload “non-commercial” does not automatically grant permission
- Do not upload images that violate copyright, trademark, portrait, privacy or other third-party rights; do not upload private photos or sensitive personal data without consent
- Uploaders are responsible for confirming rights and license scope. Our image-safety screening does not check copyright or confirm permission
- Rights holders can submit a notice on the Copyright page. After receiving the information needed to identify a claim, we will promptly restrict access to or initially remove the disputed content and process it; repeated valid infringement may lead to account restrictions or termination
